For the final weekend of this year’s Earth Week, JMU’s student environmentalist group is holding three major events. On the twentieth of April there will be a community bike ride to protest the use of oil for transportation. On the twenty-first, the lawn in front of Festival will feature free band performances and information about environmental concerns. Finally, on Sunday the twenty-second, JMU’s Green Coalition will gather at the Harrisonburg SPCA to plant trees. All of the events are free and reveal the dedication and concerns of environmentalists throughout the JMU community. Not only is this event important in order to educate students of the university, the Green Coalition is reaching out to help and educate the Harrisonburg community about local environmental problems.

According to the recent Festival Fest announcement, there is more information to be had from http://www.jmugreenteam.com or Marly Green @ greenmm@jmu.edu.
